Gareth Bale commits to February's Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Gareth Bale isn't wasting any of his newly gained free time.
Just a few weeks after announcing his retirement from soccer, the Welsh legend said he was "delighted to announce" he'd play in the PGA TOUR's Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February.
The California pro-am is set for Feb. 2-5 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Amateurs are paired up with TOUR professionals for a team competition, while the professionals simultaneously play for an individual title.
Last year, Tom Hoge won the individual competition by two strokes over Jordan Spieth, while Taylor Moore won the team event with amateur partner Kyle Adams.
Bale, who notably played for Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur before joining LAFC last June, joins a growing list of celebrity amateurs committed to next week's event, including Bill Murray, Aaron Rodgers, and Will Arnett.
