Koepka: TOUR pros enjoying my beef with DeChambeau
Brooks Koepka is winning over fellow PGA TOUR pros thanks to his beef with Bryson DeChambeau stemming from a viral interview video from the PGA Championship.
"There's been a few laughs, a few, 'I can't believe you did that, but I'm glad you did,'" Koepka told ESPN's Matt Barrie.
"It's been fun. I've gotten a good response from a bunch of the guys on TOUR, from everybody from the TOUR. It's been something I think everybody's enjoyed and it's definitely changing up the game a little bit."
Koepka was presented with a hypothetical scenario, where DeChambeau approaches him with a case of beer and asks to work out their differences face to face. But, apparently, that ship has sailed.
"There's not much to talk about. Everything that's gone on, it's one of those things. This whole thing started basically because of him, so I'll leave it at that. But I don't see us having dinner or drinks."
In the leaked footage from Kiawah Island, Koepka was visibly annoyed during the middle of an interview as DeChambeau walked behind him speaking rather loudly.
DeChambeau, who has been getting heckled by fans shouting "Brooksy" at him during recent events, called the back-and-forth "so much fun" at last week's U.S. Open.
"People think that it annoys me," DeChambeau said. "If anything, it just creates a great atmosphere for golf."
The two big-hitting Americans are both in the field this week for the Travelers Championship where another chapter to the rivalry will likely be added.
