Max Homa is the defending champion after claiming his first career win in 2019 at Quail Hollow. The 2020 edition of the Wells Fargo Championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The North Carolina venue is the home of Jason Day's last victory in 2018, and it's where Justin Thomas claimed his first and only major by winning the 2017 PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy also loves Quail Hollow. He's a two-time Wells Fargo Championship winner, which includes his four-shot victory over Phil Mickelson in 2010 for his first career title. McIlroy has finished inside the top 10 in six of his last seven starts at this event.

The course

Quail Hollow is a 7,521-yard par 71 designed by George Cobb. It has hosted the Wells Fargo Championship 15 times, as well as the 2017 PGA Championship. It will also be the site of the 2022 Presidents Cup.

Holes Nos. 16-18 - collectively dubbed "The Green Mile" - are three of the toughest five holes on the course. Together, they form a par-4-3-4 stretch that plays close to a stroke over par. Golfers who manage to end the week at even for these holes can certainly consider it a win.
