Finau and Champ posted a 4-under 68 in alternate shot - a much more difficult format compared to Round 1's best ball. The pair of long hitters made only one bogey Friday to follow up their 9-under 63 that kicked off their week as teammates.
"We played great yesterday, but we knew the day, I think, that counted more out of the two days was today," Finau said, according to ASAP Sports. "I was really happy with the way we played."
Hovland and Ventura, who shared the lead after Day 1 thanks to a 10-under 62, carded a 3-under 69 in Round 2.
Here's how the top of the leaderboard stands going into the weekend:
|Place||Team||To Par||R2 Score|

Teams that made the cut will play 18 holes of best ball on moving day before switching back to alternate shot for the final round.
