PGA Tour partners with AWS to enhance digital experiences for fans
The PGA Tour announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services on Tuesday to enhance its media business and create new digital experiences for fans.
"We are excited to utilize AWS media services to further enhance new and existing innovative services for our fans," said Scott Gutterman, the PGA Tour's senior vice president of digital operations. "Features like Every Shot Live and TOURCast will now be powered by AWS, which will allow for a more streamlined process and overall better product for our fans."
"Every Shot Live" is an app that provides fans video access to every player in the tournament. The feature that was initially unveiled ahead of the 2020 Players Championship will now be powered and improved by AWS.
Fans will also be able to upgrade their tournament-tracking experience via TOURCast, an innovative leaderboard that will provide new camera angles, course navigation tools, and on-demand stats.
It's expected that the Tour will release the new features ahead of the 2021 Players, according to Golfweek's Adam Woodard.
