McIlroy, others to show Tiger support with iconic Sunday outfits
Rory McIlroy and other PGA Tour pros will don Tiger Woods' iconic red-and-black outfit Sunday at the WGC-Workday Championship to show support for the 15-time major winner, according to Golf Channel's Todd Lewis.
McIlroy intends to wear black pants and a red shirt while Woods is in a California hospital recovering from surgery to repair multiple leg fractures following his serious car accident Tuesday.
The Northern Irishman won't be alone his tribute. Patrick Reed has told Lewis he will "definitely" wear red and black, and so will 54-hole leader Collin Morikawa.
Not everyone will be able to participate. Max Homa, who is contractually obligated to wear clothes with his sponsors' logos on them, did not pack any red and black but will attempt to honor Tiger differently.
I unfortunately didn’t pack any red and black for this road trip (obviously didn’t know the news til arriving), so I will try and pay my respects to TW tomorrow with some really great final round #golf. Hope to see a lot of red and black out there!
