Adam Sandler sounds open to reprising his role of Happy Gilmore.

Sandler and his "Happy Gilmore" co-star Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin, expressed interest in a possible sequel to the 1996 golf-themed comedy while appearing on "The Dan Patrick Show" on Wednesday.

"(A sequel) has not been discussed, but it has certainly been discussed on the internet," Sandler said. "Believe me, that Senior Tour idea, it would be so amazing."

When asked if he would green light the project, Sandler replied, "Yes, you can green light this."

McDonald also supports the Senior Tour idea.

"I am double in, yes, I would love to do it," he said. "Everybody's been screaming for it, like Adam said, on the internet. I just gotta say, it would be a complete blast. The Senior Tour with us too? Oh my god."

"Happy Gilmore" stars Sandler as an aspiring hockey player who discovers he has a talent for golf. Sandler recently recreated his swing from the movie to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
