Jon Rahm will not play in this week's American Express.
The World No. 2 was considered the favorite to win the event in La Quinta, California. No reason has been provided for Rahm's withdrawal.
Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau, and Rickie Fowler are among the biggest names remaining in the field.
Rahm has appeared in one event since the calendar flipped to 2021, recording a T7 finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions earlier in January. The Spaniard finished in the same position at the Masters in November, his second-most recent start.
