Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Webb Simpson, and Justin Thomas were named the five finalists for the PGA Tour Player of the Year award, the Tour announced Wednesday.

The award is determined by a member vote, with Tour members who played in at least 10 FedEx Cup events during 2019-20 eligible to participate.

Johnson capped off an incredible season by hoisting the FedEx Cup. He won three times and was a runner-up twice in his final four tournaments. Johnson finished the 2019-20 season as the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world.

Rahm ended his season with a late surge that saw him win twice, including his victory over Johnson in a playoff at the BMW Championship.

The 23-year-old Morikawa looked like a seasoned veteran during his first full Tour campaign. He finished with wins at the PGA Championship and the Workday Charity Open.

Thomas was the only Tour player to claim three titles this season, but he failed to perform down the stretch at some of the biggest tournaments. He faltered during the FedEx Cup playoffs, finishing outside of the top 35 at both the PGA Championship and The Northern Trust before tying for 25th at the BMW Championship.

The 35-year-old Simpson's competitors may have overshadowed his performance this season, but he won two tournaments, including an impressive victory at the RBC Heritage.
