Tiger Woods posted an even-par 71 in Round 2 of The Northern Trust to narrowly make the cut at 3-under par.
He birdied his first hole on Friday, but Woods couldn't maintain his momentum to keep pace with the leaders.
"I just didn't quite have it," Woods said following his round. "I was hitting the ball all over the place, and on a golf course that was certainly giving it up to most of the field."
His three birdies during the round were offset by three bogeys, and he didn't improve his score going into moving day. Tiger's short game let him down, as he lost nearly three strokes to the field around the green.
He did sort of manage to find one positive in a day full of negatives.
"Well, I was close to snapping a couple clubs today, but I didn't, so that's a positive," he said. "Just (have to) keep fighting and grinding it out."
Woods ended his day tied for 58th. He'll tee off alongside Rory McIlroy at 8:30 a.m. ET for Round 3.
