Tony Finau let another opportunity to win his second PGA Tour title slip away on Sunday, shooting a 3-under 68 to finish three shots behind Michael Thompson in a tie for third.

"... They don't give out second-place trophies, third-place trophies, I've learned that the hard way with a lot of them coming early in my career, but I continue to just believe and hope for the best for my future," Finau said after his round.

Finau's only victory came at the 2016 Puerto Rico Open. Additionally, the 30-year-old's result in Minnesota marks his 30th top-10 finish on the PGA Tour since the start of the 2016-17 season, the most without a Tour win over that stretch. Tommy Fleetwood is the next closest at 16.

"... I think there's a little bit of frustration, but not, you know, not a lot," Finau said about his second straight close call. "I hadn't posted a top 10 before last week since I lost the tough one in Phoenix.

"So coming off of quarantine, you never know where your game's going to be. It took me a few weeks to just emotionally be competitive and these last couple weeks have proved that I am."

"... With these major championships right around the corner, I'm really happy with where my game's at," he added.

Finau has recorded five top-10 showings over the last eight major championships.
