Koepka impartial on PGL: 'I want to play against the best'
While some PGA Tour players have taken a stance against the Premier Golf League, Brooks Koepka remained impartial when asked for his opinion on the proposed rival tour.
"I'm just going to play where the best players play," he said at his Honda Classic press conference on Wednesday. "Simple as (that). I want to play against the best. I think everyone wants to play against the best."
Unlike his biggest rival, Rory McIlroy, Koepka did not close the door on the possibility of switching circuits if and when the Premier Golf League ever comes to fruition.
McIlroy slammed said door on the PGL last week, saying "I'm out" and "I don't like what they are proposing."
But the Northern Irishman's words won't change Koepka's view.
"My opinion is my opinion - nobody else is going to sway it," Koepka said. "I respect what Rory said. Everybody's got their own thoughts, everybody's got a different opinion. ... I'm pretty sure Rory wants to play against the best players in the world too. Wherever that is, everybody's going to be playing."
The Premier Golf League made its first public statements last week and admitted the tour has received funding from Saudi Arabian interests. Koepka has played in the European Tour's controversial Saudi International in each of the past two years.
