Mickelson-Finau pairing headline tee times for American Express

Goodbye Hawaii! Hello California!

After a two week trip around the Hawaiian islands, the PGA Tour is back in the continental USA for The American Express in Palm Springs.

This tournament's had a variety of names over the years, including the Desert Classic, CareerBuilder Challenge, and the Bob Hope Classic. With a new title sponsor and Phil Mickelson as its acting host, organizers are hoping to rejuvenate this once notable PGA Tour stop.

The event is a pro-am, meaning that each professional is paired with an amateur partner for a separate competition. Due to the number of golfers in action, The American Express is played on three courses - La Quinta Country Club, Nicklaus Tournament Course, and The Stadium Course at PGA West - with the cut coming after Round 3.
