Viktor Hovland is making his transition to the PGA Tour look extremely easy.

The 22-year-old Norwegian posted a 3-under 69 in Round 1 of the CJ Cup on Thursday for his 18th consecutive round in the 60s on the Tour, passing Bob Estes, who recorded 17 straight in 2001.

Hovland becomes the first player to reach that mark since 1983, the first year the stat was tracked.

The former Oklahoma State Cowboy began his streak in the final round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic in late June. Since turning pro after his T-12 showing at the 2019 U.S. Open, Hovland has only shot in the 70s four times over 25 PGA Tour rounds.

Adding to his impressive run, Hovland has finished outside the top 16 just once over nine worldwide starts as a professional.

He sits tied for 15th after Round 1 of the CJ Cup in South Korea, five shots back of leader Byeong Hun An.
