Collin Morikawa and Matthew Wolff - two collegiate stars turned PGA Tour winners - headline the nominees announced on Wednesday for the Rookie of the Year award.

Sungjae Im, Cameron Champ, and Adam Long round out the remaining candidates for the honor, formally referred to as the Arnold Palmer Award.

The 22-year-old Morikawa played in nine events after turning professional, claiming the Barracuda Championship in his sixth start to go along with three additional top-15 finishes.

Wolff picked up his first win in only his third start as a pro at the 3M Open. At the age of 20, the former Oklahoma State Cowboy joined Tiger Woods and Ben Crenshaw as the only players to win the NCAA individual title and a PGA Tour event in the same year.

Im was an ironman this season, as he led the PGA Tour in events played with 35. He was also the only rookie to reach the Tour Championship, making 26 cuts and recording seven top-10 finishes.

Champ and Long won the Sanderson Farms Championship and the Desert Classic, respectively. However, neither sustained any level of success on Tour after their maiden victories.

The Rookie of the Year award will be decided by a vote closing on Sept. 6, with the winner being announced at a later date.
