The 25-year-old DeChambeau turned in his second straight bogey-free performance at TPC Twin Cities to sit at 14-under par for the tournament. The total marks his career best through two rounds as he looks for his sixth title on the PGA Tour.
Hadwin birdied five holes on the back nine to climb within striking distance of the leader and two clear of the group tied for third. The Canadian's lone Tour win was the 2017 Valspar Championship.

Australian Cameron Davis played a key role in the tournament despite missing the cut. As the last player on the course, he made a triple-bogey seven on his final hole to move the cutline from 4-under to 3-under and allow Brooks Koepka and Jason Day - plus 14 others - to play the weekend.
Phil Mickelson (5-over) failed to break par in either round and will head home early from the 3M Open.
