The congratulations poured in for Gary Woodland on Sunday after the 35-year-old won the 119th U.S. Open, including a post-round phone call from his No. 1 fan, Amy Bockerstette.

Woodland met Amy, a Special Olympian who has Down syndrome, at the Phoenix Open this year, leading to an incredible moment as the two played the famous 16th hole together during a practice round.

The two became friends after the heartwarming meeting in Phoenix, with Bockerstette's family rooting on Woodland as he played some incredible golf down the stretch at Pebble Beach.
