Tiger Woods carded an even-par 72 in Round 2 of the Memorial Tournament on Friday, starting the day slow out of the gates but still managing to make the cut by two shots.
"It was just kind of a mixed bag," Tiger said after his round, according to Golf Channel's Tiger Tracker. "I just couldn't get anything going."
Woods dropped a shot on his first hole and didn't climb back into red figures until his second birdie of the day on No. 11.
After adding another circle to his card on the par-4 13th, Tiger gave it all back with an ugly double-bogey seven. He left himself 250 yards into the par-5 15th following his tee shot but put his approach left of the pin and into thick rough. It took him three chips to get on the green before missing a short bogey putt.
"Second shot. You just can't (go) left of that flag," he said of his mistake.
Woods nearly shot under par but left his chip hanging on the edge of the cup on No. 18.
"My misses were left today. Yesterday it was right," he said. "Hopefully, tomorrow will be straight."
The five-time Memorial Tournament winner has lots of ground to make up. He's at 2-under for the event - seven shots behind a trio of leaders - and ended his day in a tie for 33rd.
