A timeline of Tiger's injury woes between winning major titles

It's been a long 11 years since Tiger Woods won a major championship, but here we are.

Tiger won his fifth green jacket on Sunday and moved to within three major titles of Jack Nicklaus' record of 18. Most - even Tiger - thought this day would never come due to his history of crippling injuries that derailed his career throughout his 30s.

Here's a look back at all the injuries that Tiger has overcome since his last major victory to sit atop the golf world once again:

June 16, 2008 - A hobbled Tiger defeats Rocco Mediate in a Monday playoff to win the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines for his 14th career major title.

June 18, 2008 - Woods announces he'll undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the PGA Tour season.

Feb. 26, 2009 - Tiger returns to action after an eight-month break and loses in the second round of the WGC-Match Play.

Nov. 27, 2009 - He's hospitalized with a sore neck after driving his SUV over a fire hydrant and into a tree.

May 9, 2010 - Woods withdraws from the final round of the Players Championship citing a bulging disk in his neck.

May 12, 2011 - Tiger withdraws from the Players Championship. He's diagnosed with an injured MCL in his left knee and left Achilles tendon. He misses the next two months, including two major championships.

March 11, 2012 - He withdraws from the Cadillac Championship at Doral, citing tightness in his left Achilles.

Aug. 11, 2013 - Woods feels tightness in his back during the PGA Championship.

Aug. 21, 2013 - Tiger drops to his knees due to back pain during the Barclays Championship.

March 31, 2014 - Woods has surgery for a pinched nerve in his back after withdrawing from two tournaments in March. He announces he'll miss the Masters for the first time and won't return to golf until the summer.

Sept. 16, 2015 - He undergoes a second back surgery to remove a disc fragment that was pinching a nerve.

Dec. 1, 2015 - Tiger announces he underwent a third back surgery in October and sets no timetable for his return to the PGA Tour.

Dec. 4, 2016 - Woods finishes his first tournament in over a year 14 shots behind the winner at the Hero World Challenge.

April 14, 2017 - He undergoes a fourth back surgery, this time getting his lower back fused.

Oct. 7-23, 2017 - Tiger posts three videos on social media of an iron swing, driver, and vintage stinger.

March 11, 2018 - Woods finishes second at the Valspar Championship, one shot behind winner Paul Casey.

July 22, 2018 - He briefly grabs the lead in final round of the Open Championship and eventually finishes in a tie for sixth.

Aug. 12, 2018 - Tiger cards a final-round 64 at the PGA Championship to finish runner-up to Brooks Koepka.

Sept. 23, 2018 - Woods wins the Tour Championship for his 80th career victory on the PGA Tour.

March 9, 2019 - He announces he'll skip the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational due to a neck strain.

April 14, 2019 - Tiger claims his fifth green jacket with a one-shot victory at Augusta National.
