Tiger Woods sits five shots back of clubhouse leaders Tommy Fleetwood and Keegan Bradley after firing a 2-under-par 70 to open The Players Championship on Thursday.

He recorded six birdies, including one on the par-3 17th, but also added four bogeys to his scorecard to fall outside of the tournament's top 30 after 18 holes.

Woods said after his round that his neck is "fine," according to Golf Channel's Tiger Tracker.

He showed no signs of lingering health issues with this vicious swing out of the rough:

Tiger seemed as confident as ever in Round 1. He twirled his club and strutted along after this towering shot en route to a birdie on the par-5 16th:

Woods will look to continue his solid play when he tees off at 8:32 a.m. ET for Round 2 on Friday.
