Vijay Singh is looking to become the oldest PGA Tour winner in history, entering the final round of the Honda Classic one shot behind leader Wyndham Clark.
The 56-year-old fired a 5-under 65 in Round 3 on Saturday, a six-birdie showing at PGA National that saw him jump up 30 spots on the leaderboard. If he were to pull off his 35th PGA Tour victory, he would break Sam Snead's record, who won at the age of 52.
Clark, a PGA Tour rookie who is 30 years younger than Singh, shot his second straight 67 and sits at 7-under for the tournament. He ranks second in the field in strokes gained: putting through three rounds.
Keith Mitchell and Kyoung-Hoon Lee join Singh at 6-under, sharing a tie for second.
Rickie Fowler is alone in fifth after carding a 4-under 66. He won at PGA National in 2017 and is looking to collect his second title this season after claiming the Phoenix Open in February.
There are 27 players, including notables Brooks Koepka (4-under) and Sergio Garcia (3-under), within five shots of the leader heading into Sunday.
