Inclement weather suspended Round 2 for the remainder of Friday at the PGA Championship, but not before leader Gary Woodland could turn in a record-setting performance.
Woodland fired a 4-under 66 for a two-day total of 130 strokes, the lowest 36-hole score in tournament history.
Birdies were plentiful before the hail and thunderstorm showed up, with multiple players going low at Bellerive Country Club early on Friday.
Brooks Koepka (8-under) and Charl Schwartzel (7-under) both shot 63, tying the lowest score in PGA Championship history.
Kevin Kisner, who played alongside Woodland in Rounds 1 and 2, fired a 6-under 64 to sit one shot back.
Severe weather rolled into the St. Louis area Friday afternoon to, at first, delay second-round action until the PGA Championship announced play was done for the day.
Tiger Woods (3-under), Rory McIlroy (even) and Rickie Fowler (7-under) are all in the middle of their second rounds.
Round 2 play will resume Saturday at 8:00 a.m. ET.
The third round will begin immediately after the conclusion of Round 2, with golfers playing in threesomes and teeing off both No. 1 and No. 10.
