Tiger Woods' children are too young to remember the last time he won a major, so having them witness his strong showing at the 2018 British Open was extra special for the 42-year-old.
In an interview with Jay Coffin of Golf Channel, Woods spoke about the emotional embrace he shared with his kids, 11-year-old daughter Sam and 9-year-old son Charlie, after finishing tied for sixth.
"I told them I tried and I said, 'Hopefully you're proud of your pops for trying as hard as I did,'" Woods said on Sunday.
"It's pretty emotional because they gave me some pretty significant hugs there and squeezed. I know that they know how much this championship means to me and how much it feels good to be back playing again."

Woods' last victory on the PGA Tour came in 2013 at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and his last major win was the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
"The only thing they've seen is my struggles and the pain I was going through. Now they just want to go play soccer with me," Woods said of his kids. "Man, it's just such a great feeling."
