With the U.S. Open and other notable events occurring since the last set of rankings, it's time theScore revisits the current top 10 players in the world. Taking wins, consistency, and strokes gained statistics into consideration, here is how the top 10 golfers shake out.

*Change from last month's rank in parentheses.

1. Dustin Johnson (-)

Johnson finished third at the U.S. Open, a disappointing result considering he had a stranglehold of the tournament after two rounds. Regardless, he is beyond worthy of being crowned the best golfer in the world. He leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained: total by over half a shot and has two wins this season. Picking up his second career major at Carnoustie is a strong possibility.

2. Justin Thomas (-)

There's no reason to move Thomas out of this spot, as the 25-year-old continues to make cuts and churn out high finishes. His last missed cut came at the 2017 Open Championship, the one major he's struggled at in his short career. Carnoustie will be a great test to see exactly where Thomas' game is at.

3. Justin Rose (+2)

Rose continues to be as steady as they come, recording top-10 finishes at the U.S. Open and this past week's Scottish Open. He ranks second in strokes gained: total this season and climbed to No. 3 in the world golf rankings. Rose could easily claim his second career major at Carnoustie.

4. Jon Rahm (-1)

Rahm did miss the cut at Shinnecock Hills, but also finished inside the top five in three of his last four events. His win at the CareerBuilder seems like ages ago - which it was - but his ability to pump out quality finishes since then cannot be overlooked. Carnoustie could present Rahm with his best chance of winning a major in his short career.

5. Jason Day (-1)

Despite missing the cut at the U.S. Open, Day's two wins on the season keep him inside the top five. He sits third in strokes gained: total, thanks to his phenomenal season with the flat stick. Day is one marquee win away from becoming the front-runner for Player of the Year.

6. Brooks Koepka (NR)

Koepka once again showed how dominant of a player he can be with his extremely impressive U.S. Open title defense. He's becoming one of the most feared golfer's in the world - especially in majors - finishing inside the top 15 a remarkable 11 times since 2014.

7. Rory McIlroy (-1)

Rory isn't winning anytime soon until he figures out how to sink a few putts. He missed the cut at the U.S. Open, a course that fit his off-the-tee game perfectly. At the Travelers Championship, McIlroy led the field in strokes gained: tee-to-green but finished dead last in putting. The winner's circle will continue to elude him if his putter remains ice cold.

8. Bubba Watson (-)

Bubba picked up win number three of his 2017-2018 campaign, coming from behind at the Travelers Championship. The thing about Watson is he wins at courses he feels comfortable at, as eight of his 12 career wins have come at only three tournaments. In order to really impress, he'll have to bounce back from his missed cut at the U.S. Open and finally finish inside the top 20 across the pond.

9. Jordan Spieth (-2)

Spieth's 2018 continues to be a year he'll want to forget. His run since his third-place showing at Augusta is disastrous, failing to finish inside the top 20 in six events including missed cuts at the Memorial and U.S. Open. However, given his incredible track record, he remains a favorite to defend his Open Championship title.

10. Patrick Reed (-)

Reed recorded his third straight top-five finish in a major by storming up the leaderboard Sunday at the U.S. Open. He's becoming a big-game hunter, similar to what Koepka is doing, so keep an eye on him at Carnoustie. Unfortunately, a missed cut at the Travelers Championship keeps the Masters champ in the 10 hole.
