With Webb Simpson so far out in front at The Players Championship, all eyes were on the tightly contested battle for second.
At 14-under par, Jason Dufner entered the final hole Sunday alone in second after posting six birdies on the day. "Duffman" stuck his approach shot to within 17 feet and looked to be in great shape to walk away with a cool $1.188 million.
Instead, Dufner proceeded to 3-putt his way into a tie for fifth.
Dufner's $418,000 haul isn't bad for four days' work, but $770,000 is a steep price to pay for a few extra putts.
The missed par putt also cost Dufner 215 FedEx Cup points, as the 41-year-old would've walked away with 330 had he converted the tricky 3-footer.
