The buzz surrounding Tiger Woods at this year's Masters is growing by the day. But it's not just the Augusta faithful currently in awe of Tiger and his rapidly-improving game.
"He hit a few drives that were well worth watching, whether you paid for it or are in the tournament like me," Fred Couples said of Woods following Monday's nine-hole practice round, according to ESPN's Bob Harig.
"He's doing well," Couples said. "If you watched him play today, there's not much of a back problem. He's hitting it a long way, and it looks beautiful. Today wasn't any different than it was 10 years ago when we played. It was pretty awesome."
Woods will tee it up Thursday at the Masters for the first time since 2015, when he finished in a tie for 17th place. However, that version of Tiger was restricted due to injury. This year, he is finally healthy and rounding into form just ahead of majors season.
Couples will be playing a nine-hole practice round Tuesday with Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Thomas Pieters, a round in which both Couples and Pieters will enjoy being spectators, according to the former.
"I think Thomas and I will just sit back and watch," Couples said.
First-round action gets going from Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday morning.
