Horschel apologizes, explains club toss at caddie

Bill Horschel didn't make the cut at THE PLAYERS Championship, but his name was in the news and on social media Friday.
Horschel chipped in for bogey on the par-3 13th then tossed his 5 wood at his caddie as he walked to the next tee, making his caddie pick up the club and retrieve the ball from the cup.
On Saturday, the former Florida Gator took to Twitter to explain the situation, and the emotion he felt after chipping in.
"Obviously I was frustrated after the 7 iron went in (the hazard), went to my 5 wood, understood that I made bogey, I still kept my (cut) hopes alive. I holed it, I was sort of just chuckling to myself, thinking 'you got to be kidding me,' the golf gods taketh, and they giveth at the same time."
The former FedEx Cup winner admitted after watching the video that the visual didn't look good on him, but the club toss wasn't directed at Josh Cassell, his caddie.
"So, I tossed my club at my bag, obviously didn't think I would toss it that hard. I've seen the video, it was harder than I wanted, but it wasn't at my caddie. He knows that, we've had a conversation, he actually reached out to me to talk about it to say he was cool with everything."
