Miami Heat bench boss Erik Spoelstra will coach USA Basketball's Select Team, a group of players who will help the senior men's national team prepare for Tokyo 2020, according to The Associated Press' Tim Reynolds.

"I really just want to be a part of the program," Spoelstra said. "I’m always pushing myself to get better in the offseasons ... for where I am right now in my career, I think this is the perfect thing for a summer of development."

Minnesota Timberwolves wing Anthony Edwards will be among the headliners of Spoelstra's practice squad, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Edwards led all rookies with 19.3 points per game this past season, adding 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.1 steals while appearing in all 72 games. The 19-year-old ended up finishing second to the Charlotte Hornets' LaMelo Ball in Rookie of the Year voting.

USA Basketball has reportedly finalized its main 12-man Olympic roster, which features Spoelstra's standout Heat center, Bam Adebayo.

Team USA is holding a training camp in Las Vegas from July 6-18, with a handful of exhibition games scheduled for that window:

July 12 Australia 8 p.m.
July 13 Argentina 6 p.m.
July 16 Australia 6 p.m.
