Report: Tatum commits to playing for USA Basketball at Tokyo Olympics

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has committed to playing for USA Basketball during this summer's Tokyo Olympics, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reports.

This marks Tatum's first time representing Team USA at the Olympic Games. He previously won gold medals with the program at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, and 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship.

Tatum joins Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard among players who've reportedly committed to Team USA.

The Celtics star averaged 26.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 64 regular-season contests this past season. Tatum also recorded 30.6 points per game in Boston's first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets.

With Tatum, Green, and Lillard all suiting up for the Americans in Tokyo, Team USA is now hoping to get a commitment from Bradley Beal. There's optimism the Washington Wizards star will join the team this summer, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Team USA will carry out training camp from July 6-18 before the Olympic men's basketball tournament gets underway July 25.
