Capitals' Carlson out vs. Wild with lower-body injury

John Carlson will not play in Friday's game against the Wild due to a lower-body injury.
Analysis:
It's unclear exactly when Carlson's injury occurred, but he'll be re-evaluated again Saturday. In his absence, Taylor Chorney will draw into the Capitals lineup, but he provides much less offensive upside than Carlson (31 points in 47 games) and probably doesn't figure to see any power play time. Expect another update on the blueliner following his evaluation Saturday, which may provide a bit more clarity on his status for Sunday's contest against the Blackhawks.
