Passing the Hellebuyck: Jets activate Pavelec off injured reserve
Bruce Fedyck / USA TODAY Sports
With their playoff hopes waning, the Winnipeg Jets have shaken up the goaltending depth chart.
Ondrej Pavelec has been activated off injured reserve, while Connor Hellebuyck is being sent back to the AHL's Manitoba Moose.
Pavelec has not played since Nov. 21 due to a knee sprain, while Hellebuyck shone in his first extended run at the NHL level, posting a record of 13-11-1 with a .918 save percentage.
It appears as though the Jets - seven points out of a playoff spot - will roll with Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson, who have combined for 11 wins and a .907 save percentage this season.
