Blizzard postpones Ducks-Capitals game
Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports
There won't be Friday afternoon hockey after all.
The Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks are packing up and heading indoors after the NHL officially postponed Friday's game due to inclement weather.
Friday's game had been moved up to 5 p.m. ET in an effort to beat the storm.
The blizzard beginning to fall in the Washington area has also left Sunday's game between the Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins in doubt. A decision on that game is expected Saturday morning.
A makeup date for Friday's game has not yet been established.
