Arizona Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette found himself in a very unusual position Saturday when his impressive 482-game iron man streak came to an end.
"I didn't know what to do," Vermette told Coyotes senior director of news content Dave Vest. "I was lost. It's certainly not a comfortable position to be in."
Vermette participated in a full practice on Thursday after missing the last three contests with a lower-body injury. It was the first time he'd missed any games since 2008-09.
The 33-year-old will be reevaluated ahead of Friday's game with the Vancouver Canucks. He has not recorded a point in seven games this season.
