Barrie received a three-game suspension for a hit to the head of Ducks' Simon Despres in Friday's game, according to CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. The suspension will cost Barrie $41,935.47 in salary.
Analysis:Barrie appeared to leave his feet and made contact with Despres' head along the boards, so the NHL Department of Player Safety labelled it as charging and interference. He will miss games Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday, and return the following Tuesday. Weekly owners need to reserve him immediately.
