Stamkos, Lightning double up Bruins to remain undefeated

Brian Boyle scored twice and Steven Stamkos hit a career milestone as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Boston Bruins 6-3 in a Columbus Day matinee Monday.

Stamkos scored a power-play goal late in the second period to record his 500th career point.

The Lightning rallied from an early 2-0 deficit, scoring three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead early in the second period. Bruins forward Loui Eriksson tied the game on the power play, but Tampa Bay scored three more times to improve to 3-0-0.

The Bruins remained winless on the year, falling to 0-3-0. Boston has scored only seven goals in its first three contests. David Krejci scored a goal and added two assists in a losing cause.

Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask gave up all six Lightning goals on 23 shots. Tampa Bay netminder Ben Bishop stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced.
