McDavid signs with Adidas as 'brand ambassador'
The NHL's reported jersey supplier of the future has landed the game's best prospect.
Connor McDavid has signed with Adidas Canada as the company's new "brand ambassador," according to a release from the company.
"I'm really excited to be partnering with an iconic brand such as Adidas," McDavid said. "They have a great team of people who provide great support and even better products. It’s an honour to be a part of #teamadidas, thanks to everyone who made this possible."
The Oilers forward will wear Adidas performance apparel and footwear, according to the release.
McDavid has already appeared in an ad for Adidas and retailer SportChek, but the announcement confirms the first overall pick's latest endorsement deal. The 18-year-old also signed with CCM in June.
Adidas will reportedly become the league's new jersey supplier in 2017-18, with an official announcement expected later this month.
