P.K. Subban working out with former Canadian sprint star Ben Johnson
Don't be surprised if P.K. Subban gets out of the blocks fast next season.
The Montreal Canadiens superstar has been working out on the track with Canadian sprinting pioneer Ben Johnson in effort to improve his speed, acceleration, and agility.
"Running is a fundamental," Johnson told TSN's Rick Westhead. "If you can't run, you can't play the game, even if it's on the ice."
Johnson said they've scaled back the training of late, but promises Subban will benefit from the work they're putting in.
"He's going to be even better, even faster next year."
Subban has been tight-lipped about his relationship with Johnson as even his agent, Don Meehan, was unaware of the unlikely partnership.
Johnson captured the gold medal for Canada at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, but was stripped after testing positive for steroids.
