While the Tampa Bay Lightning doused the Detroit Red Wings' Stanley Cup hopes, another fire had to be put out at Amalie Arena on Wednesday.
Police reported Wednesday that a Red Wings fan who attended Game 7 in Tampa Bay was arrested on first-degree arson charges, according to the Tampa Tribune. The fan in question, 35-year-old Lena Sinishtaj was charged for trying to set fire to an occupied structure. The structure referred to is likely Amalie Arena.
According to witnesses at the game, it is believed that Sinishtaj attempted to set fire to a giant Lightning flag that was being passed around the crowd during the national anthem.
The Lightning will look to stay hot when they kick off Round 2 against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
