The Florida Panthers' bounce back season wasn't enough to convince Zach Hyman.
The Hobey Baker nominee and All-Big 10 First Team forward for the Michigan Wolverines has informed Florida's management he won't sign before Aug. 16, preferring to become a free agent, reports ESPN's Craig Custance.
He adds that the Panthers could trade their former fifth-round selection before unrestricted free agency clocks in late this summer.
The senior forward scored 22 goals and 54 points in 37 games for Michigan.
