New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk got the best of Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin near the end of the second period of Sunday's Game 3, dropping to block a shot and having the presence of mind to knock the puck away on a dangle attempt.

If defense wins championships, credit general manager Garth Snow for prying Boychuk away from the Boston Bruins back in training camp.
