The New York Rangers ensured home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs for the first time since 1994 by defeating the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Tuesday to win the Presidents' Trophy.

The Rangers are the second team to win the Presidents' Trophy three times, joining the Detroit Red Wings, who have won it a league-high six times.

The last time New York won the Presidents' Trophy, the franchise went on to capture its first Stanley Cup since 1940.
