Maple Leafs sign free agent Nikita Soshnikov to entry-level deal

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs signed free agent forward Nikita Soshnikov to a three-year entry level contract on Friday.
Soshnikov, 21, skated in 57 games with Moscow Oblast Atlant of the Kontinental Hockey League this season, recording 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) and 22 penalty minutes.
Soshnikov had the third-highest point total (32) among all KHL skaters under the age of 23. In 90 career KHL games, Soshnikov has 37 points (16 goals, 21 assists) and 49 penalty minutes.
The Maple Leafs return to the ice Saturday night when they play the Senators in Ottawa.
