Panthers' Jagr passes Phil Esposito for 5th on career goals list

Jaromir Jagr scored midway through the second period of Thursday's game against the Detroit Red Wings to move past Phil Esposito for sole possession of fifth place on the NHL's all-time goals list.
The Florida Panthers forward snapped a shot past Petr Mrazek on a rush for his 718th career goal. Jagr has scored twice in nine game since being traded to the Panthers.
Jagr is 13 tallies shy of tying Marcel Dionne for fourth on the goals list and eight points behind Ron Francis for fourth in all-time points.
