Sabres farmhand Pysyk collapses during pickup basketball
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) Rochester Americans defenseman Mark Pysyk was released from Strong Memorial Hospital hours after collapsing during a pickup basketball Saturday at the team's arena.
The Americans said Pysyk ''is doing well.''
The 23-year-old Pysyk was sent to Rochester on Friday after a short stint with the Buffalo Sabres. The Americans are Buffalo's American Hockey League affiliate.
Pysyk, selected 24th overall by Buffalo in the 2010 draft, has three goals and 13 assists in 51 games for Rochester this season. In seven games for Buffalo this season, he has two goals and an assist. He has four goals and 11 assists in 70 career NHL games.
