Hurricanes GM on trade deadline approach: 'We hope to be fairly active'
The Carolina Hurricanes appear set to be one of the busier teams leading up to the NHL's March 2 trade deadline.
That's general manager Ron Francis' hope, at least.

With his team sitting in 28th place and in line for a top draft pick, Francis will likely be looking for assets with which to rebuild a winner in Carolina.
As such, names such as Andrej Sekera, Jiri Tlusty and maybe even Cam Ward could be mentioned in many a trade rumor over the next couple of weeks.
Further to that, TSN's Bob McKenzie added the following names to the list of Carolina's potential trade candidates on Friday:
Pending UFA forwards Jiri Tlusty and Jay McClement haven't been able to come to terms with CAR on extensions, so they're likely to be dealt.
