Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Boston Bruins in the first period for a high cross-check on Adam McQuaid.
Roussel didn't like McQuaid's attempt to hit him as he carried the puck through the neutral zone and turned to confront the Boston defenseman. McQuaid dropped his gloves expecting a fight, but Roussel raised his hands and shoved his stick into McQuaid's face before a punch could be thrown.

Officials initially assessed Roussel a minor penalty for cross checking, but adjusted the call to a major and a game misconduct after conferring at center ice.
