Bruins place Simon Gagne on unconditional waivers

Simon Gagne's NHL career appears to be at another crossroads.
The veteran winger has been placed on unconditional waivers by the Boston Bruins, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA.
Gagne, who signed a one-year deal with the club shortly after training camp, left the team in December to be with his ailing father, who has since passed away.
This bit of paperwork paves the way for Gagne's contract to be terminated, and may signal the end of his professional hockey career.
