Blackhawks' Carcillo suspended 6 games for cross-checking Jets' Perreault

Chicago Blackhawks forward Dan Carcillo has been suspended six games for his hit on Winnipeg Jets center Mathieu Perreault, the league announced Monday.

The incident occurred during Friday's game.
Carcillo originally accepted an in-person hearing with the Department of Player Safety but reportedly had a change of heart, opting instead for a phone hearing.
It's the veteran agitator's ninth suspension and the 12th time he's been issued supplemental discipline.
Carcillo had the right to appeal but elected not to do so, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
