Daniel Alfredsson appears set to take quite a victory lap.

The former Ottawa Senators forward and long-time captain will don his old No. 11 once again on Thursday as part of his official retirement announcement.

The plan is for the 41-year-old to skate in the warmup prior to the game against the New York Islanders, as confirmed by the club's Twitter account.

This jives with a teaser tweet sent out by Sens owner Eugene Melnyk with instructions for fans lucky enough to attend the game.

It's also believed that Alfredsson will sign a one-day contract with the club so that he's able to retire as a Senator after a brief stint with the Detroit Red Wings.

Alfredsson sits as Ottawa's all-time leader in games played (1178), goals (426), assists (682) and total points (1108).

As such, it should be quite the party for the Senators' prodigal son.
