The first 29 seconds of Sunday's game between the Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings proved to be too electric for the Joe Louis Arena to handle.
The teams were removed from the ice early in the first period due to a power outage at one end of the rink.
Here's a look at the poorly lit arena.

The delay isn't expected to last too long. The in-house DJ entertained the crowd with thematically relevant songs, beginning with "Dancing In The Dark."
Update: The two teams took to the ice after a delay of approximately 40 minutes. The game was set to resume after a brief warmup.
